Our Brands

Kale and Bee is launching with the consumer brand KIND Organic® - a range of tampons, pads and liners made from organic cotton and designed to be kind to your skin.

Skin sensitivity remains one of the most widespread concerns of women, with an estimated 50% suffering in the UK & across Europe.

With many mainstream sanitary products containing unnecessary chemicals, added artificial absorbents and plastics, KIND Organic® is keen to raise awareness of the natural alternatives that have been developed to be kind to even the most sensitive skin.

Our team

Our founders Kate & Steph don’t just have a passion for health and well-being, they want to make it easier for women to be better informed and in control of some of the most intimate products they use on/in their bodies. Unlike many other organisations that produce and market femcare products, we believe it is important to have women at the very core of that process.

Kate Bache

CEO

Originally a qualified chemist (MChem), Kate has more than 12 years experience in blue chip pharmaceutical and FMCG companies.

Most recently, Kate has held senior positions in international functions across Europe and Australasia for Pepsico and Kellogg’s. A specialist in international innovation, commercialisation and marketing leadership, Kate has big ambitions to develop Kale & Bee into a leading business in feminine hygiene and skincare products.

Steph Knowles

CFO

PwC-trained chartered accountant Steph started her career working in audit where she managed a wide range of corporate and charitable clients across the UK.

Steph has developed in a unique combination of roles, from finance controller of power giant Npower to more hands-on financial management positions for charity Camphill Village Trust and more latterly tech SME PleaseTech (document collaboration software).

Social Responsibility

The KIND Organic® range of sanitary products are not only kind to skin but also kind to the environment and kind to farmers:

Kind to the environment:

  • Growing organic cotton produces up to 94% less greenhouse gas emissions than growing non-organic cotton.
  • The farming of organic cotton uses less energy and water than the farming of conventional cotton.
  • Where possible, we have replaced synthetic materials with naturally derived biodegradable alternatives to reduce our impact on the environment. For example, KIND Organic® pads and liners are made with a biofilm back-sheet instead of plastic.

Kind to farmers:

  • Organic cotton is also better for farmers as they are not exposed to harmful pesticides and herbicides during the farming process.
  • Unlike conventional cotton, organic cotton can be grown alongside food which feeds farmers and their communities.
